SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

On April 28, Ottawa Art Gallery opens its doors with a schedule of free activities for everyone. Join us all weekend-long and explore your new gallery!

SATURDAY APRIL 28, 2018

INAUGURATION
11 AM

OAG’s Director & CEO Alexandra Badzak, Mayor Jim Watson and OAG’s Board Chair Lawson AW Hunter invite you to attend the official inauguration of the Ottawa Art Gallery expansion project in OAG’s lobby at 50 Mackenzie King Bridge.

HOURLY TOURS
12 PM – 5 PM

Explore OAG’s groundbreaking inaugural exhibition Àdisòkàmagan / Nous connaître un peu nous-mêmes / We’ll all become stories with free thematic tours every hour on the hour. Tours start from the OAG Visitor Experience desk.

MORNING JAM

Get your wiggles out with DJ JFUN at Jackson café. Morning Jam is about letting go and grooving in safe spaces with good people. Do you like to dance? #MorningJamForever (even in the afternoon).

IN THE STUDIO
12 PM – 3 PM

Help us repurpose packing materials from our move by collaborating on the creation of a collective cardboard sculpture inspired by the exhibition. Drop-in to OAG’s new educational space, the Studio.

DANCE AT DUSK
7 PM – 10 PM

End the day in OAG’s beautiful new multi-purpose entertainment space, the Alma Duncan Salon. Move to the soulful sounds of experimental jazz-rap/hip-hop artist Muzzy Legault, and futuristic dancefloor beats blended with Inuit throat-singing performed by JUNO award nominees Silla + Rise. Wander through the exhibition spaces and encounter performance artwork by Cara Tierney, and have your image captured at the Fancy Ball Photo Booth sponsored by SAW Video. Cash bar, food by Jackson. RSVP here.

On Saturday, April 28, OAG is pleased to offer free childcare for visitors from 4PM – 9 PM. Enjoy a relaxed gallery experience knowing your children are in good care—and having a good time.
